Font - dogmom71 1d The tone is very negative. Why not tell people to come inside and introduce themselves and meet the staff. The stern tone of this job posting isn't very appealing to people who can get similar jobs at other places. + Reply 652

Font - Saith_Cassus • 22h Self-selecting. They want someone who will be subservient and sacrifice their life for the company, not someone who will say "wait a minute, this is ridiculous. You've gotta treat me like a goddamned human being!" By making the job posting already treat them like shit, they guarantee that the only folks applying will be those who have no other options. Though hopefully they've overestimated how many people have no other options available, and they'll go out of business

Font - AggravatingCupcake0 15h . The stern tone of this job posting isn't very appealing Before WFH was cool, in the early 2000s, I was applying to get my first grown up job. One job I was told, upon interviewing with the hiring manager, was WFH. I uttered a pleased / surprised "Oh!" and was immediately treated to a lecture about how "this isn't going to be playtime!" and the like. They were hiring to replace a girl who had been fired for under performance. I was talked to sternly one or two mor

Font - SchereSee . 1d Can confirm. I manage a retail store and if someone walks in with an application, I'm not even allowed to accept it. Not that I would want to, online is so much more convenient for both sides 497 +

Font - SweetAssInYourFace 23h I'm a little torn about this one. I think for coffee shop type jobs it makes a lot more sense to have people apply in person with a BRIEF application form, conduct a simple interview, then hire people who seem like reasonable human beings. It's easy to fire those who don't work out. Many who are unsuitable for the job will fire themselves by not showing up once it's clear the job isn't for them. I'd much prefer this to the online application blackhole. The job posti

Font - recruiter_gal. 1d Do people not realize that when making a job posting, they should try to make it as attractive as possible to bring in quality candidates?! Literally ripping on people already right in the posting isn't going to get you good applicants ... I guess the plus is this company has voluntarily outed itself as being a shit place to work. Saves time for the candidates lol + Reply 215
